Description
The 1977 Palmer Port Colheita is a rare single-harvest Tawny Port, matured in seasoned oak casks for more than forty years. A remarkable wine for collectors and a memorable choice for milestone celebrations. Drink now or enjoy until 2035+.
Tasting Notes:
Deep amber-tawny with coppery glints. The bouquet is intensely complex, with aromas of dried figs, dates, toasted almonds, caramelised orange peel and subtle hints of coffee and spice. The palate is smooth and layered, showing flavours of raisin, toffee, walnut and honey balanced by lively acidity. The finish is exceptionally long, nutty and elegant, with lingering notes of dried fruits and oak.
Serving Tips & Storage
Colheita Ports are bottled ready to drink and require no decanting. Serve slightly chilled (12–14°C) to highlight freshness and aromatic detail. This 1977 Colheita pairs beautifully with tarte tatin, pecan pie, crème brûlée or a fine selection of mature cheeses. Once opened, the wine will keep in excellent condition for several weeks if stored upright in a cool place. Please store unopened bottles on their side, in a cool, dark environment away from heat and light.
