Description
The 1977 Palmer Port Colheita is a distinguished single-harvest Tawny Port, aged for more than four decades in seasoned oak casks. This rare and venerable Colheita captures the depth and refinement of the 1977 vintage, offering extraordinary complexity and smoothness. A collector’s treasure and an ideal choice for celebrating milestone occasions. Drink now or savour until 2035+.
Tasting Notes:
Deep amber-tawny with copper highlights. The nose is wonderfully mature, displaying aromas of dried figs, dates, roasted walnuts, caramelised orange peel and subtle hints of spice and coffee. On the palate, rich flavours of raisin, toffee, almond and honey are lifted by bright acidity that adds freshness to the depth. The finish is exceptionally long, nutty and elegant, with lingering notes of dried fruits and warm oak.
Serving Tips & Storage
Colheita Ports are bottled ready to enjoy and require no decanting. Serve slightly chilled (12–14°C) to highlight aromatic complexity and freshness. This 1977 Colheita is superb with crème brûlée, tarte tatin, roasted nuts or a fine selection of mature cheeses. Once opened, the wine will remain in excellent condition for several weeks if stored upright in a cool place. Please store unopened bottles on their side, in a cool, dark space away from heat and light.
