Description

Barbaresco DOC 1976 Giacosa Donato is a historic red wine from Piedmont, Italy, produced in the traditional style of the Langhe region. This bottling represents a classic expression of Nebbiolo from the mid-1970s, crafted for long aging and gradual bottle evolution over decades.

Tasting Notes:
Brick-garnet color with orange reflections. Aromas of dried rose petals, red cherry, leather, tobacco, tar, licorice, and forest floor, with subtle earthy, balsamic, and spice nuances.
Elegant and mature palate with softened tannins, balanced acidity, and layered tertiary complexity. Long, refined finish with notes of dried herbs, smoke, and aged spice.

Serving & Food Pairing:
Serve at 16–18°C, with gentle decanting only if necessary.

Pairs well with braised meats, game, porcini mushrooms, truffle dishes, risotto, tajarin pasta, and aged cheeses.

Producer:
Giacosa Donato is associated with traditional Piedmontese winemaking, producing classic expressions of Nebbiolo focused on elegance, structure, and long bottle aging in the Barbaresco area.
