Description
Barbera d’Asti DOC 1974 Bersano is a historic red wine from Piedmont, Italy, produced in the Asti area by the estate Bersano. It is made from Barbera, a traditional Piedmontese grape known for its deep color, vibrant acidity, and fruit-driven profile, vinified in a classic style with aging in large neutral oak casks and long bottle maturation.
Tasting Notes:
Brick-ruby color with garnet reflections. Dried cherry, plum, red berries, leather, tobacco, and earthy notes. Subtle spice and dried herb hints.
Medium body, softened tannins, still-present acidity. Balanced, gently fading finish.
Serving & Food Pairing:
Serve at 16–18°C, with light decanting if needed.
Pairs with roasted meats, braised dishes, pasta with rich sauces, mushroom recipes, and semi-aged cheeses.
Producer:
Bersano is a historic Piedmontese winery founded in Nizza Monferrato, well known for traditional Barbera d’Asti production and for its long-standing role in the region’s winemaking heritage.
