Description

Barolo DOC 1976 Fontanafredda is a historic red wine from Piedmont, Italy, produced by the renowned estate Fontanafredda. This bottling represents a classic mid-1970s Barolo, crafted from Nebbiolo grapes in a traditional style for long-term aging and gradual development of complex tertiary aromas.

Tasting Notes:
Brick-garnet color with amber reflections. Aromas of dried cherry, rose petals, leather, tobacco, subtle tar, and earthy forest floor notes.
Full-bodied palate with softened yet structured tannins, balanced acidity, and layered tertiary complexity. Long, elegant finish with hints of dried herbs, spice, and mature fruit.

Serving & Food Pairing:
Serve at 16–18°C, with gentle decanting if sediment is present.

Pairs well with braised meats, game, mushroom risotto, truffle-based dishes, polenta, and aged cheeses.
