Description
The 1976 Barolo DOC by Giovanni Scanavino is a traditional Nebbiolo-based red wine from the Langhe, reflecting the classic, structured Barolo style of the 1970s, designed for long aging and slow evolution in bottle.
Tasting Notes: Now fully mature, it likely shows evolved aromas of dried roses, red cherry, and orange peel, layered with tertiary notes of leather, tobacco, truffle, and earthy forest-floor nuances. On the palate it is expected to be elegant and fully developed, with softened but still present tannins, integrated acidity, and a long, refined finish.
Serving & Food Pairing: Best served at 16–18°C, with careful decanting to separate sediment and gently open the bouquet. It pairs well with braised meats, game, truffle dishes, and aged cheeses.
Producer: Giovanni Scanavino is linked to the winemaking tradition of Langhe, a historic region known for producing some of Italy’s most iconic and age-worthy Nebbiolo wines.
