Overview:
A mature and characterful wine from the Franciacorta region of Lombardy, the 2000 Bonomi-Capineto Tenuta Castellino reflects the traditional northern Italian style of balanced structure, refined fruit and graceful bottle development. Now with over two decades of age, the wine displays evolved complexity while retaining freshness and elegance.

Appearance:
Deep ruby-garnet with subtle brick evolution at the rim, showing mature development and excellent bottle age.

Nose:
Expressive and fully evolved, revealing aromas of dried cherry, redcurrant and plum layered with cedarwood, tobacco leaf and earthy spice. With air, additional nuances of leather, dried herbs and woodland character emerge, adding tertiary depth and sophistication.

Palate:
Smooth, savoury and harmonious, with softened tannins supporting flavours of dried red fruits, stewed plum and subtle balsamic nuance. Notes of spice, cedar and gentle earthiness add complexity, while balanced acidity preserves freshness and lift across the palate.

Finish:
Elegant, refined and persistent, lingering through dried fruits, spice and delicate savoury tones.

Decanting:
Decant for 30–60 minutes before serving at 16–18°C to allow the wine’s mature bouquet and complexity to fully emerge.
