Bouchard Père & Fils is one of the oldest estates in Burgundy. It's been going strong for nearly three centuries. Behind it is a passion for crafting truly exceptional wine. This continues with winemaker Frédéric Weber. His care and patience has upheld the estate's reputation for excellence for almost 20 years. You'll taste it in this great-value red Burgundy. It has intense notes of dark fruit, a lively acidity and a great tannic structure. Serve this at room temperature with roast chicken. Drink now or age for up to seven years.

The 2015 Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Les Lavières comes four hectares owned by the estate and is matured in 30% new wood, including 20% whole cluster fruit. It has a clean and pure bouquet with bergamot-tinged red cherry and strawberry fruit that is nicely defined. The palate is medium-bodied with supple redcurrant and cranberry fruit, and well-integrated new oak, although it needs just a little more Pinoté to be expressed on the finish. (NM)
