Arnozelo 2019 Douro Red is a bold and expressive wine from Portugal’s Douro Valley, produced by the renowned Sogevinus group. Made using a blend of traditional Douro grape varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, and Tinta Roriz, it captures the richness and character that the region is famous for. This wine hails from vineyards near Quinta do Arnozelo, a historic estate known for its schist soils and sun-drenched slopes.

Deep ruby in colour, the nose reveals vibrant aromas of ripe red fruits—think cherries and plums—interwoven with floral hints, subtle spice, and earthy undertones. A touch of oak aging adds nuances of vanilla, cedar, and cocoa, enhancing the wine’s complexity without overpowering its fruit-driven core.

The palate is smooth and well-balanced, offering generous fruit flavours supported by soft tannins and a gentle acidity. There’s a depth and structure here that makes it highly drinkable while also capable of evolving nicely over a couple of years. The finish is long and elegant, leaving lingering notes of dark berry and spice.
