Description
The wines of Château Cissac are superior, classic wines, which combine the strength of the Médoc and the aromatic elegance of the greatest of the Bordeaux wines.
Scoring this lively, fine-grained claret 91 points, critic James Suckling described it as "clean, crisp and flavorful", with a "pretty nose". Maturation in part new oak barrels for 20 months lends notes of vanilla to the freshness of the fruit. There is great concentration and intensity of fruit due to reduced yields. The structure is well complemented by the vibrant juiciness of the fruit. Juicy plump blackcurrant fruit and firm tannins. 'The Englishman's Claret' with potential to age.
