Description

Hortevie is a quality Bordeaux vineyard, located across the road from Ducru-Beaucaillou, who now own it and have added extra polish and finesse. Hortevie is a consistent, forward yet age-worthy claret. Some of Saint-Julien’s typical cedary character has emerged to add intrigue to the long, satisfying finish. The wine was made by Bruno Borie at Ducru-Beaucaillou.

Château Hortevie is a distinguished wine estate situated in the Saint-Julien appellation of Bordeaux, France. With a history dating back centuries, the estate has garnered acclaim for its production of high-quality red wines. Spanning approximately 8 hectares, the vineyard benefits from well-drained gravelly soils, ideal for cultivating Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot grapes. Château Hortevie's wines are renowned for their elegance, structure, and aging potential, reflecting the unique terroir of the Saint-Julien region. Under the stewardship of the Cruse family, who have owned the estate since the 19th century, Château Hortevie continues to uphold its reputation for excellence, offering wines that epitomize the classic characteristics of Bordeaux's Left Bank appellations.
