Description

The Meyney vineyard is in a single plot, covering an impressive 51 hectares of the St Estephe appellation. It enjoys an attractive position on gravel ridges overlooking the Gironde.. It is planted with 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, 9% Petit Verdot and 9% Cabernet Franc. The vines have an average age of about 35 years with a density of up to 7500 vines/ha.

This wine has a very ripe nose with a lot of new oak and honeyed element inflecting the ripe black fruits. Moderate definition. Damson and a touch of fig jam. The palate is showing some sur-maturite with a charred/burnt toast character marring what would otherwise be very pure, damson tinged fruit.
