Description

Appearance
Deep, almost opaque black colour with a dense, inky core.

Nose
Rich and expressive, showing intense aromas of blackcurrant and dark red berries, with subtle hints of citrus adding lift and freshness.

Palate
Medium-bodied yet concentrated, offering layers of ripe black fruit balanced by bright acidity. Soft, well-integrated tannins provide structure while maintaining an approachable and fresh character.

Finish
Long and smooth, with lingering dark fruit flavours and a refreshing, slightly citrus-tinged lift.

This wine comes from the widely acclaimed 2016 vintage, declared by many leading Port houses as exceptional. It should be stored horizontally at a consistent temperature of around 15°C and served between 15°C and 18°C for optimal enjoyment. It pairs beautifully with blue cheese, mature cheddar, nuts, and chocolate desserts. With its depth and structure, it is well-suited for long-term ageing, allowing further complexity to develop over time.
