Freisa 1982 Marchesi di Barolo is a red wine from Piedmont, Italy, produced by the historic Marchesi di Barolo, a family estate renowned for crafting wines that respect Piedmontese tradition. Freisa, a native grape of the region, is celebrated for its aromatic character, lively acidity, and aging potential, all of which are beautifully expressed in this mature 1982 vintage.

Tasting Notes:
The wine shows a garnet-red color with orange-brick reflections, characteristic of a well-aged Freisa. The bouquet is delicate yet layered, revealing aromas of dried cherries, red raspberries, subtle wild berries, and hints of violet, complemented by tertiary notes of leather, tobacco, gentle spices, and earthy undertones. With gentle aeration, nuanced balsamic and mineral hints emerge, adding sophistication and depth.

On the palate, it is medium-bodied with smooth, integrated tannins and a lively, balanced acidity.
