The 1985 vintage in the Douro is widely regarded as one of the finest declared years of the decade, producing Vintage Ports of richness, balance and impressive longevity. Graham’s, long celebrated for its opulent, fruit-driven house style, released a 1985 that has become one of the standout wines of the vintage.

Sourced from prime vineyards including Quinta dos Malvedos and Quinta do Tua, Graham’s 1985 reflects the house’s hallmark generosity — combining ripe, luscious fruit with firm structure and depth.

Tasting Notes:
Now deep garnet with brick tones beginning to show at the rim, the nose is rich and expressive. Aromas of black cherry, plum and dried fig are layered with notes of dark chocolate, sweet spice and a hint of eucalyptus. With time in the glass, nuances of tobacco leaf and cedar emerge. On the palate it is full-bodied and velvety, with softened tannins supporting flavours of ripe dark fruits, cocoa and warming spice. The finish is long, smooth and generous, retaining impressive depth and harmony.

Serving & Food Pairing:
Decant carefully to remove natural sediment and allow the wine to breathe before serving. Best enjoyed at cellar temperature. A classic partner to blue cheeses such as Stilton, chocolate desserts or simply savoured on its own.
