Description

This 1991 Nebbiolo from Produttori del Barbaresco displays the elegant maturity of a traditionally crafted Piedmont wine. The bouquet offers aromas of dried cherry, rose petal, tar, subtle truffle, and hints of leather, cedar, and earthy spice. On the palate it is medium-bodied, with softened, fine-grained tannins and balanced acidity. Flavours of dried red fruit, forest floor, and gentle spice lead to a long, savoury, and harmonious finish.

Serving Suggestions
For optimal enjoyment, stand the bottle upright for 24–48 hours before serving to allow any sediment to settle. Carefully decant the wine to separate it from the sediment. Serve at 17 °C (63 °F) after decanting for 30–40 minutes to allow the aromas to fully open. Pairs beautifully with braised meats, roast game, mushroom risotto, aged cheeses such as Parmigiano Reggiano or Castelmagno, and traditional Piedmontese dishes like tajarin with truffle or brasato al Nebbiolo.

For wines of this age, the cork may crumble when opening—this is normal and does not affect the quality of the wine. As with many mature wines, individual bottles may show some variation, reflecting their unique ageing journey. The evolved, savoury character of older wines may not appeal to every palate, but for those who appreciate the grace of time, it offers real depth and authenticity.
