Exclusive to Vintage Wine and Port
The 1970 Palmer Port Colheita is a rare single-harvest Tawny Port, aged for over half a century in seasoned oak casks. From one of the most iconic vintages of the 20th century, this extraordinary Colheita displays remarkable depth, elegance and maturity. A true collector’s gem and a memorable wine for milestone celebrations. Drink now or savour over the next decade.
Tasting Notes:
Deep mahogany-tawny with golden edges. The bouquet is richly evolved, offering aromas of dried figs, dates, roasted chestnuts, caramelised orange peel and subtle notes of coffee and spice. On the palate, layers of raisin, toffee, almond and molasses unfold with silky smoothness, balanced by a lively acidity that provides freshness. The finish is exceptionally long, nutty and complex, leaving lasting impressions of dried fruits and fine oak.
Serving Tips & Storage
Colheita Ports are bottled ready to enjoy and do not require decanting. Best served slightly chilled (12–14°C) to enhance freshness and aromatic complexity. This 1970 Colheita is an outstanding match for treacle tart, roasted nuts, dark chocolate desserts or a board of mature cheeses. Once opened, the bottle will keep well for several weeks if stored upright in a cool place. Store unopened bottles on their side, in a cool, dark environment away from heat and light.

Specialising in Colheitas, Tawnies and Aged Ports, Palmer sources its grapes from the Douro Valley’s schistous vineyards, crafting expressive, authentic wines that combine heritage with elegance.
