Description
The 1977 Palmer Port Colheita is a remarkable single-harvest Tawny Port, aged in seasoned oak casks for more than four decades to reveal the full depth and maturity of this legendary vintage. Rich, elegant and beautifully evolved, it is a rare opportunity to enjoy a Colheita of such age and pedigree. Perfect for collectors or as a memorable gift. Drink now or enjoy over the next decade.
Tasting Notes:
Deep amber-tawny with copper glints. The nose is complex and enticing, offering aromas of dried figs, dates, roasted walnuts, caramelised orange peel and subtle spice. On the palate, layers of toffee, raisin, almond, coffee and honey unfold with remarkable smoothness. Bright acidity lifts the richness, giving freshness and balance. The finish is exceptionally long, nutty and elegant, leaving lingering impressions of dried fruits and oak.
Serving Tips & Storage
Colheita Ports are bottled ready to drink and require no decanting. Best served slightly chilled (12–14°C) to enhance freshness and aromatic complexity. This 1977 Colheita pairs beautifully with fine pâtisserie, crème brûlée, roasted nuts or a board of mature cheeses. Once opened, the wine will remain in excellent condition for several weeks if stored upright in a cool environment. Store unopened bottles on their side, in a cool, dark space away from heat and light.
