From one of the most historic and distinguished houses in the Douro, Warre’s 2007 Vintage Port is a superb expression of a truly exceptional year. The 2007 harvest produced grapes of remarkable balance and intensity, yielding a Port that combines depth, elegance, and outstanding ageing potential. Crafted with the precision and tradition that define Warre’s, this wine reflects both the character of the vintage and the timeless style of the house.

In the glass, it shows a deep purple-black hue, still remarkably youthful after more than fifteen years. The nose bursts with ripe blackberry, cassis, and plum, lifted by notes of violet, cedar, and sweet spice. Subtle undertones of liquorice and cocoa emerge with air, adding complexity and warmth. This aromatic depth captures the essence of the Douro Valley’s steep schist terraces and sun-drenched fruit.

The palate is powerful yet graceful — layers of dark fruit, black cherry, and chocolate unfold with fine-grained tannins and vibrant acidity. It’s a wine of impeccable structure, offering richness without heaviness. The long, resonant finish lingers with flavours of dried fruit, spice, and mineral tension, promising decades of development for those patient enough to cellar it.

"The 2007 Warre Vintage Port is one of the stars of the vintage. A glass-coating opaque purple color, it displays an expressive bouquet of Asian spices, incense, lavender, blackberry, and fruitcake. Plush on the palate with outstanding volume, it exhibits a sense of elegance as well as power. Savory flavors, plenty of structure for the long haul, and a lengthy, fruit-filled finish suggests two decades of cellaring are in order. This superb effort should still be drinking well in 2050."
