Chillingworth and Son Vintage Port, 1890

Vintage Port
High Shoulder - Bottled 1893

The *1890 Chillingworth & Son Vintage Port* is an extraordinary and historic wine, offering a rare glimpse into the craftsmanship of 19th-century Douro winemaking. Produced in an era when viticulture and vinification were entirely manual, this Port has survived more than 130 years, evolving into a masterpiece of aged fortified wine. Bottles from this vintage are exceptionally scarce, making it a true collector’s prize and a living piece of Port history.

In the glass, it presents a deep amber-tawny core with a green-tinged rim, the unmistakable signature of great age in Vintage Port. The nose is profoundly complex, with layers of dried fig, sultana, and medjool date alongside rich molasses, toasted walnut, and exotic spice.

D'Oliveiras Madeira, 1890

Verdelho Madeira

D'Oliveiras 1890 Verdelho Madeira

The 1890 Verdelho from D’Oliveiras is an extraordinary survivor from the golden age of Madeira. Produced in the late nineteenth century and matured slowly in cask for well over a century before bottling, it represents one of the rarest and most historically significant wines still available from the island.

Verdelho occupies the classic middle ground in the traditional Madeira styles — richer than Sercial yet drier than Bual — and with extreme age it develops remarkable depth and complexity while retaining the vibrant acidity for which Madeira is renowned.
