Warre's Vintage Port, 1978
Quinta da Cavadinha Vintage Port
The 1978 Warre Cavadinha is the first release from this estate after it was purchased by the Symington family in 1978. The late ripening cycle of this estate dictates the style of Cavadinha Ports; they are fresh, elegant and have very fine aromas and now form the backbone of Warre’s Vintage Port.
Old vines make up a very high proportion of the vineyard, consequently these wines are dark and concentrated, but the south easterly aspect and higher altitude results in a very elegant style. The wines from the lower vineyards that border the Pinhão River are tannic, dark purple-red and concentrated but have superb aromas of tea-rose and violets. …

Niepoort Port, 1977
Vintage Port
From the outstanding 1977 vintage. The excellent Niepoort is one of the smallest producers of port. Their ports are sought after by collectors and port lovers.
Reviews:
"Light, bright red color. Perfume of candied red fruits and roses. Tasted of red fruits, roses and violets. More roses and violets. Some citrus peel as well, but muted. Silky, seductive and elegant. Alcohol well integrated. This was a truly amazing and luscious port, even if not what I expected. More fruit and flowers than most ports are, but just beautiful. Glad I still have one more bottle." Cellar Tracker
"Niepoort is to Vintage Port what Krug is to Champagne. …

Quarles Harris, 1977
Vintage Port
***18/20, Jancis Robinson***
Healthy ruby with a brick rim. Quite subtle already; there is some perceptible evolution of colour and flavour here. Mineral rather than fruit flavours dominate. Very big and full. Very, very sweet indeed - in fact I thought it was from a Portuguese house. This wine delivers a pretty good combination of power, interest and, especially, sweetness. This is not a wine to be ignored! But it's a very particular style....without enormous tannic reserves. Jancis Robinson

Taylor Fladgate, 1975
Vintage Port
"This house must certainly be the Latour of Portugal. Their ports are remarkably backward yet still impressive when young. Of all the vintage ports, those of Taylor need the longest time to mature and even when fully mature seem to have an inner strength and firmness that keep them going for decades. The 1975 has turned out richly fruity, supple, and offers delicious drinking for the near future." Robert Parker Buyers Guide 1989.
