Chateau Leoville Poyferre, 2007

St Julien 2me Cru Classe, Bordeaux
***90 Points Robert Parker***

***90 Points Robert Parker***
Tasted blind at the 2007 Bordeaux horizontal in Southwold. The nose is lacking a little vigour and definition: rather muffled black fruit, minerals, dark cherries but it opens up and coalesces in the glass. Modern in style, quite opulent for the vintage…typical of Didier's style. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe dusty tannins, quite spicy on the entry, nice weight and cohesion, a little dry towards the finish but decent length. Very fine.

Vintage Port- MAGNUM
***16.5 Points- JancisRobinson.com***
***93 Points- Wine Advocate***

An outstanding 2007 Vintage Port Wine from Croft. Please note: this is a rare Magnum bottle of wine - 1.5 liters.
2007 Croft harvest report
The 2007 growing season was preceded by a wet winter that replenished water reserves after four hot, dry years. The humid conditions continued into spring and early summer with lower than average temperatures combined with periods of rain. There were no significant periods of intense heat during the summer months. This ensured that the leaf canopies were in an exceptionally healthy condition and able to benefit from the warm weather that preceded the harvest.
