Description

This 1997 Barbaresco displays the refined complexity of well-aged Nebbiolo. Aromas of dried cherry, rose petal, tar, and earthy underbrush mingle with subtle hints of tobacco, leather, and spice. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, with elegant, softened tannins and bright yet mellowed acidity. Flavours of dried red fruit, cedar, and truffle emerge, supported by a lingering, savoury finish that speaks to the wine’s mature Piedmontese character.

Serve at 17–18 °C (63–65 °F) after a gentle decant of 30–45 minutes to allow the aromas to open. Pairs exquisitely with slow-cooked braised meats, roasted game, or aged hard cheeses such as Grana Padano or Parmigiano Reggiano. Traditional dishes like risotto with porcini or tajarin with truffle also complement its nuanced profile.
