Description

Barbera d'Alba DOC 1994 Gianfranco Alessandria is a historic red wine from Piedmont, Italy, produced by the traditional winery Gianfranco Alessandria. This bottling represents a classic mid-1990s Barbera, crafted in a traditional Piedmontese style for medium-term aging with a focus on vibrant fruit and balance.

Tasting Notes:
Deep ruby color with garnet reflections. Aromas of red cherry, plum, dried herbs, and subtle spice, with hints of leather and earthy nuances.
Medium-bodied palate with soft tannins, lively acidity, and elegant structure. Long finish with tertiary notes of dried fruit, balsamic undertones, and gentle earthiness.

Serving & Food Pairing:
Serve at 16–18°C. Decanting is optional, mostly to separate any sediment.

Pairs well with pasta with meat sauces, roasted or braised meats, mushroom dishes, polenta, and aged cheeses.

Producer:
Gianfranco Alessandria is a traditional Piedmontese winery known for producing Barbera, Nebbiolo, and other local grape varieties with attention to elegance, freshness, and aging potential.
