Description
Massolino, 2019 Barolo “Parussi”
A distinctive Barolo from the Parussi cru, located on the border between Castiglione Falletto and Monforte d’Alba, the 2019 Barolo Parussi combines elegance and structure in a refined expression of Nebbiolo.
Tasting Note
The nose is lifted and aromatic, offering ripe red cherry, wild strawberry and raspberry, followed by notes of rose petal, dried herbs, liquorice and subtle spice. On the palate, the wine is poised and finely structured, with vibrant acidity supporting flavours of crimson fruit, orange peel and mineral earthiness. Polished tannins provide shape and drive through to a long, savoury and balanced finish.
Food Pairing
Ideal with braised beef, slow-cooked lamb, game dishes, mushroom and truffle-based recipes, and aged hard cheeses such as Parmigiano Reggiano or Castelmagno.
Serving & Cellaring
Serve at 16–18°C. Decant for 1–2 hours before drinking. Drinking well now with air, and will cellar confidently for 15–20 years.
Why We Love It
Parussi brings a slightly more perfumed, approachable side of Barolo while retaining depth and longevity. Massolino’s interpretation is precise, elegant and classically styled — a superb expression of this celebrated cru.
