Description

The 1976 Haut-Brion is medium ruby in color, with some amber creeping in at the edges. The wine has been fully mature since the early eighties, yet it is still drinking well. A spicy, earthy, oaky, moderately fruity bouquet offers elegance. On the palate, the wine is soft, round, medium bodied, and charming. Robert Parker.

Tasted at the Academie du Vin from ex-château bottles, the 1976 Haut Brion is actually a vintage that I have never tasted before... the bouquet has held up well with cocoa-tinged dark fruit, terracotta and dried blood. It feels a little diffuse, but it still rings of Haut Brion... (NM) (7/2016)
