The 1985 Clos du Marquis is the second wine of the famous Chateau Leoville Lascases. Still ruby with bricking edge. Wonderful, ready nose, cedar, fresh but totally secondary, more forest loam than cherries at this point, with a welcome line of herbs to give it some lift. Palate nicely balanced but narrowed with age, plus it was never a powerful vintage to begin with.

Château Clos du Marquis is a renowned wine estate located in the Saint-Julien appellation of Bordeaux, France. With a history rooted in the 19th century, the estate has earned acclaim for its production of exceptional red wines. Encompassing approximately 45 hectares, the vineyard benefits from gravelly and clay-limestone soils, ideal for cultivating Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot grapes.
