Description
1963 Colheita Port Exclusive to VWP.
The 1963 Palmer Port Colheita is a magnificent single-harvest Tawny Port, matured in seasoned oak casks for six decades. From one of the most legendary vintages of the 20th century, this rare Colheita offers remarkable complexity, elegance and harmony, making it a true collector’s piece and an unforgettable choice for milestone celebrations. Drink now or over the next several years.
Tasting Notes:
Deep mahogany-tawny with amber glints. The bouquet is beautifully mature and layered, revealing aromas of dried figs, dates, caramelised nuts, candied orange peel, coffee and fine spice. On the palate, flavours of raisin, toffee, roasted almond and molasses unfold with silky smoothness, lifted by bright acidity that gives freshness to the richness. The finish is exceptionally long, nutty and elegant, leaving lingering notes of dried fruit and well-seasoned oak.
Serving Tips & Storage
Colheita Ports are bottled ready to drink and require no decanting. Serve slightly chilled (12–14°C) to highlight aromatic complexity and freshness. This 1963 Colheita is superb alongside roasted nuts, treacle tart, crème brûlée or a fine selection of mature cheeses. Once opened, the bottle will keep in excellent condition for several weeks if stored upright in a cool place. Please store unopened bottles on their side, in a cool, dark environment away from heat and light.
