Founded in 1959, Campo Viejo has become one of Rioja’s most recognised bodegas, producing wines that combine tradition with a generous, approachable style. Their Gran Reserva represents the pinnacle of the range, crafted from Tempranillo with small amounts of Garnacha and Graciano, and matured for years in American oak and bottle before release.

The 1985 vintage was one of Rioja’s finest of the decade, and this wine now shows a beautifully evolved character. Aromas of dried cherry, cranberry, cedar, vanilla, and tobacco lead into a palate that is silky and harmonious, with flavours of strawberry, redcurrant, leather, balsamic and warm spice. A classic, fully mature Rioja Gran Reserva — elegant, complex, and ready to savour.
