From the outstanding 1985 vintage. The excellent Niepoort is one of the smallest producers of port. Their ports are sought after by collectors and port lovers.

Quinta de Vargellas Vintage Port

The elegant and scented Port wines of Quinta de Vargellas are the most reputed Single Quinta Vintages. Regarded as more prestigious and collectable than many shippers’ declared Vintages. Like a declared Vintage, a Quinta de Vargellas Single Quinta Vintage Port is released soon after bottling.

Quinta do Agua Alta

Despite its thoroughly traditional-sounding name Churchill is the newest of the British-owned Port companies, founded in 1981 by J. Graham.

Quinta Agua Alta is named after the spring at the top of the vineyard and it produces wonderfully pure and fresh water that bubbles up through the granite rock below the thin top soil. Olives and figs grow in abundance around the vineyard which produces a quite stunninly powerful port.

Deep purple in colour with a mass of soft and concentrated fruit. There's plenty of tannin to give structure and a pleasing earthiness on the finish. This is the perfect way to round off a good dinner. …

Vintage Port

Vintage Port

Fonseca is one of our all-time favourites. Fonseca's 1983-vintage Port is made with a harvest that survived the first snowfall in Pinhão in 20 years and heavy rain through the spring. Colheita Port

The 1982 Messias Colheita Port represents a fine example of a meticulously crafted Tawny Port, showcasing the expertise and tradition of Messias in producing high-quality Port wines.

Tasting notes:
A complex fusion of dried fruit and cedar notes. Aromas of dried forest fruits, with a strong note of prunes and spice. On the palate the wine is smooth and full bodied with walnuts, caramel, vanilla and sweet prunes enhanced by sultana and wood spice flavours from the cask ageing. The aftertaste is persistent, smooth, and fine.

Quinta dos Malvedos

These bottle have been taken from Grahams' cellars in Oporto where they have been stored until 240 bottles were released in 2018. The bottles are in exceptional condition with each individually numbered.


In undeclared years, its wine is bottled as Malvedos, which can be better than many Vintage Ports. Vintage Port

Purple fading to red and finally pink at the rim. Rich blackberries on the nose along with very faint stewed strawberries. The tannins were powerful on Christmas day but mellowed some by the next evening. The blackberries carried through as a prominent flavor, but added a sourish note almost like a sour cherry. The finish starts out with a rich butter cookie note, but then quickly switches to grape stem.

"Pale auburn in colour, with a rose rim. Floral honey on the nose, pleasant but not strong. Dusty sweet redcurrant jelly on the tongue, with the tannins showing through as a gentle dusty persistence. The 1978 Kopke Colheita Tawny Port was bottled in 2015 with 119 grams per litre of residual sugar and a bar top cork (typical for the house). It is very graceful for its age, finishing with a wave of sweetness, fruit and sugar. Emphasizing the caramel more than the molasses, this is irresistibly delicious, but it becomes more complex and puts on weight as it airs and warms. The wine shows off its power and hints of Brandy on the rather tense finish, too. Overall, this is a beauty that becomes more impressive the longer you sit with it. …

The 1978 Warre Cavadinha is the first release from this estate after it was purchased by the Symington family in 1978. The late ripening cycle of this estate dictates the style of Cavadinha Ports; they are fresh, elegant and have very fine aromas and now form the backbone of Warre’s Vintage Port.
