Feuerheerd Port, 1970
Vintage Port
The 1970 Feuerheerd Vintage Port is a true gem from one of the Douro’s most celebrated vintages. Feuerheerd, founded in 1815 by the German merchant Dietrich Matthias Feuerheerd, is known for crafting classic, robust Ports that age gracefully for decades. Fonseca Port, 1970
Vintage Port
Imported and Bottled by Grants of St James
An outstanding port from a classic vintage. The Fonseca 1970 is now fully mature, and is probably one of the finest glasses of port that you will ever taste. A wine of this quality will age superbly for many decades to come. A magnificent wine with abundant ripe fruit flavours and concentrated tannins. Perfect harmony and balance places this Port amongst the all-time greats.
Robert Parker, renowned critic writes of this Port.... "... it excels in its magnificently complex, intense bouquet of plummy, cedary, spicy fruit and long, broad, expansive flavours. With its lush, seductive character, one might call it the Pomerol of Vintage ports. …

Known for its lush, fruit-driven style, Graham’s 1970 is a benchmark for what mature Port can achieve — combining richness, depth, and graceful longevity.
After more than five decades in bottle, the wine has developed an extraordinary bouquet. There's a signature Graham’s opulence to the nose, yet it's balanced by a subtle sense of freshness and lifted spice. …

Graham's Port, 1970
Vintage Port bottled for Army and Navy Stores
Labels bin soiled
Excellent provenance
*** 93 Points (Parker) ***
"...a definite Bordeaux-like nose! Well defined, foursquare at first, opening up nicely with maraschino cherries, cloves, burnt wood/embers and bergamot, gaining intensity all the time in the glass. The palate is very harmonious and elegant. Fleshy, harmonious, seductive on the palate with allspice, nutmeg and ginger sprinkled over the viscous finish and finally, freshly rolled tobacco on the aftertaste. Good length, powerful like many of the 1970 ports continue to be. Superb. Drink now-2020+ Neil Martin Wine Journal Tasted September 2009.
"The 1970 is a monumental vintage port and one of the greats of the vintage. …

Quinta do Noval Nacional, 1970
Nacional- Vintage Port
“This wine is a mysterious phenomenon, a magical wine produced in extremely limited quantities and only in a few years each decade. It is the expression of a terroir and confirms something that is for me a deeply held belief. The Nacional is great because of the grapes and where they come from, not because of anything particular that we do. It has a unique personality, an extraordinary intensity and, even after many years of ageing, retains an astonishing youthfulness.” Christian Seely
The terroir: a small area at the heart of the Quinta do Noval vineyard planted with ungrafted vines and untouched by phylloxera, described as “attached to the soil of the Nation”. …

Vintage Port
Oporto bottled
Taylor's 1970 Vintage Port reviews.
99 points Wine Enthusiast
This wine's dark garnet color with minimal bricking suggests a relatively youthful wine and this certainly could age longer, although it's also delicious now. Wonderfully complex floral and herbal scents easily move into deep, rich flavors of chocolate and cherries, sprinkled with a healthy dose of Douro minerality and spice. Drink or hold. (JC) (2/2007)
98 points Vinous
