Taylor Fladgate, 1967

Single Harvest Tawny Port
Presented in Taylor's Beechwood case

Taylors have just announced a limited release of their 1967 Single Harvest Tawny Port. This is a new release of a rich, mellow and spicy 1967 Single Harvest Port.

It is presented in a classic Taylor’s frosted bottle, and packaged in a high quality beech-wood box.

During its five decades of ageing in oak casks, this wine has taken on an attractive pale mahogany colour with olive amber highlights. On the nose the wine displays fine oaky aromas and complex spicy, nutty, cigar box notes against a warm mellow background of butterscotch and molasses. The smooth velvety palate is lifted by a crisp acidity which gives the wine an attractive freshness in spite of its age.

Tokaji, 1967

Aszu 5 Puttonyos, Monimpex
Sweet White Wine

Hungary’s most famous dessert wine is Tokaji the legendary sweet elixir. It can only be spoken in the superlative about this wine, as it is a medicine, a real nectar. The name Tokaji (which is of Protected Designation of Origin) is used for labelling wines from this wine district. The location of the region has a unique climate, beneficial to this particular viniculture, due to the protection of the nearby mountains, long warm autumns and mists that come in from the River Bodrog, creating perfect conditions for noble rot. Creating the botrytised ('aszú') grapes for which the region is famous.

Coop Villa

Valtellina is one of Italy’s most dramatic wine regions, located in Lombardy, the vineyards are located on steep mountains. The DOCG wines are generally comprised of at least 90% Chiavennasca and then blended with other quality local grapes like Brugnola, Rossola, Pignola. Then there is a DOC Valtellina Rosso (also called Rosso di Valtellina DOC) which requires at least 80% of the blend be Chiavennasca and does not have minimum ageing requirements.

Messias, 1966

Quinta Cachao Vintage Port
Messias Library Release

The 1966 vintage in the Douro was marked by classic conditions — a balanced growing season that allowed for full physiological ripeness without excessive heat. In the mid-20th century, producers like Messias focussed on traditional, patiently crafted Ports, favouring extended cask ageing and careful bottle evolution. Quinta do Cachão, perched on steep schist terraces in the Cima Corgo, has long been respected for its well-structured, expressive Ports, and this 1966 Vintage is a distinguished example of that era’s style: balanced, quietly powerful and beautifully aged.

Now a deep amber-ruby with tawny reflections at the rim, the bouquet is richly evolved and multilayered.
