Description

Château Bois de Laborde 2005 comes from one of Bordeaux’s most celebrated vintages, offering a beautifully mature claret with classic Left Bank character. After nearly two decades of ageing, the wine has developed wonderful aromatic complexity, showing cedar, tobacco leaf, cassis and a gentle note of dried herbs.

On the palate, the 2005 vintage structure is still evident, but the tannins have softened into a smooth, harmonious texture. Flavours of blackcurrant, plum and warm spice sit alongside hints of leather and earthy savouriness, giving the wine depth and elegance without being heavy.

This is a perfect opportunity to enjoy fully mature Bordeaux at its peak. The balance between fruit, acidity and tertiary complexity makes it both engaging and highly drinkable, with all the hallmarks of traditional claret from an exceptional year.

Food pairing: Ideal with roast beef, lamb dishes, game, hard cheeses or slow-cooked winter stews. Now drinking perfectly.
