Description
Château d’Armailhac 2018 – Pauillac 5ème Cru Classé
The 2018 vintage in Bordeaux delivered wines of richness, depth and generous fruit, and Château d’Armailhac produced a beautifully balanced Pauillac that combines power with refinement.
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby-purple colour. The nose is expressive and layered, offering aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry and plum, supported by notes of cedar, graphite, cocoa, tobacco leaf and subtle spice.
On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and polished, with fine, ripe tannins and a rounded structure. Concentrated flavours of cassis, dark cherry and ripe blackberry are complemented by savoury nuances of liquorice, mocha and well-judged oak. The finish is long, smooth and confidently Pauillac in style.
Food pairing: This wine pairs superbly with roast or grilled beef, rib-eye steak, lamb rack, duck breast, venison and rich mushroom dishes. It also works beautifully with mature hard cheeses such as Comté, aged Cheddar or Beaufort.
Château d’Armailhac 2018 is a generous yet refined Pauillac with excellent ageing potential, offering immediate appeal alongside the structure to evolve gracefully in bottle.
