Vintage & Producer
Tenuta S. Agnese, owned by the Fanetti family, is one of the historic names of Montepulciano and among the earliest producers to bottle Vino Nobile under its own label. The estate’s traditional approach, using large oak casks and extended ageing, produces wines noted for structure and longevity. The 1985 vintage was exceptional across Tuscany, bringing ripe fruit, balance, and the potential for decades of graceful evolution.

Tasting Note
Now at full maturity, this 1985 Riserva shows a soft garnet colour with brick tones at the rim. The nose is fragrant and evolved, offering aromas of dried cherry, violet, sweet herbs, and cedarwood. The palate is elegant and mellow, with flavours of dried fruit, leather, spice, and earthy undertones. Fine acidity and gentle tannins provide lift and length, leading to a smooth, savoury finish. A beautifully mature example of classic, old-world Vino Nobile from a benchmark vintage.
