Porto Valriz, Non Vintage

Very Very Old White Port
in Original Silk-lined Case
50cl Bottle
18/20 - Jancis Robinson

A very rare and very old white port blended from two casks (1900 and 1960). Golden white color; with intense aroma of honey and dried fruit, highlighting the almond and fig. Excellent dry port flavour: fat, soft, velvety and very persistent. Crown jewel of Coimbra de Mattos's family.

Coimbra de Mattos, a Douro family committed to viticulture and wine production since many years ago – a testimony of that commitment is the medal awarded to Christovan Ayres de Mattos, grand-uncle of the current owners of the family company, in the Exposition Universelle de 1900 (Paris International Exhibition of 1900).

Valdespino, Non Vintage

Palo Cortado `Viejo C.P.`

The NV Palo Cortado Viejo C.P. produced from Palomino from the Macharnudo Alto is feed with specific casks of Fino Inocente and Amontillado Tio Diego. It was traditionally aged in the Calle Ponce (Ponce Street), and if has kept the C.P. initials since then. It’s not age-certified, but the average age of the bottled wine is 25 years.

Notes: Pale sandalwood/caramel in hue, with a fresh, brisk, redolently woody aroma. Though appearing to teeter on the verge of volatility by virtue of being so dry and so woody, the blue cheese notes (cachel blue / dolcelatte / cabrales / stilton) lift it into an entirely different level.

Valdespino Quina

This quina is from a traditional recipe used by the Valdespino family for over 100 years. It is old Oloroso wine from the VOS and VORS soleras blended with a little Pedro Ximenez from El Candado. The wine is aromatized by fruits, roots and herbs such as Cinchona bark, gentian root, licorice, nutmeg, dried grapefruit and dried Seville oranges,.

Notes: Dark mahogany colour with coppery tones. The nose is concentrated with layered aromas of aniseed, nutmeg and dates. Notes of quinine and a satisfying bitterness on the palate lead to a long and complex finish. This is the perfect aperitif, served in a tumbler glass on the rocks with a cinnamon stick and a twist of orange

Valdespino is one of the oldest bodegas in Jerez,

Punt e Mes - G.B. Carpano
1970's bottling

Punt e Mes is a versatile vermouth and is used in various classic and modern cocktails.

The *Amaro* from Pistone, here in a 1970s bottling, is a fascinating piece of Italian spirits history, offering a glimpse into the flavour profile and production style of mid-20th-century herbal liqueurs. Amaro, meaning “bitter” in Italian, is traditionally made by infusing a neutral or wine-based spirit with a blend of roots, herbs, spices, citrus peels, and other botanicals, often with regional variations in recipe. The *Vermouth Drink* from Torazzi, in this circa 1970s bottling, is a rare and evocative example of Italy’s post-war aperitivo tradition. Produced during a time when vermouth was a centrepiece of social drinking culture, it would have been made from a base of quality wines infused with a carefully balanced blend of botanicals—wormwood (*assenzio*), aromatic herbs, roots, citrus peels, and warming spices—creating a bittersweet, aromatic profile typical of the classic *rosso* style.

In the glass, a bottle of this age would likely show a deep amber-brown colour with garnet glints, reflecting both its original richness and the oxidative evolution that comes with half a century in bottle.
