Raboso, 1972

Rosato, Campo di Pietra

***Please note that this wine is designed for early consumption and is sold as a curio from the rare 1972 vintage, therefore it is excluded from our guarantee*** Raboso is a red wine grape grown primarily in Eastern part of Veneto. It is often called Raboso Piave, from the name of the river where it has found a eletive zone of production. It produces deep-colored wine, with notably high levels of tannin no high alcohol content but above all it always gives very high acid contents. The name, raboxo in the native Venetian language, means angry, because angry is the sensation in the mouth when this wine is drunk young.

Ryst Dupeyron Armagnac, 1971

Ryst Dupeyron Reserve Joseph Millesime vintage Armagnac
50cl bottle

The Joseph Reserve Armagnacs are aged in the greatest tradition. Scents of prunes and vanilla emerge from these elixirs. They are the haute couture of Spirits. They represent the quintessence of brandy.

The 1971 Dupeyron Armagnac is the expression of a single year and has a unique character associated with the year and the cask in which it has been stored. These vintages are bottled at the alcohol level in which they naturally come out of the cask. There is a wonderful contrast between the sweet and sour flavours of wood, amplified by the strong alcoholic degree. Rich palate feeling the alcohol and the concentration of dry plums, spicy with persistent flavour of rancio and of spices, but round, soft and long in the finish.

Marchesi di Barolo

This Marchesi de Barolo from the outstanding 1971 wine vintage is considered to be one of the finest types of wine in the world and is often referred to as 'the King of wines'.

Reviews: "The wine has a clear, pale intensity, garnet-brown colour. The nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of grilled herbs, sweet tea leaves, earth, hints of cherry fruit. With more air, classic roses and tar, which then faded to reveal truffles after an hour plus. On the palate, dry, high acidity, resolved medium tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of earth, sweet tea leaves, slight red cherries, grilled herbs, and eventually truffles.

Barolo, 1971

Terre del Barolo - Riserva Numerata

Barolo is known as the 'king of wines' and is made from the Nebbiolo grape. Heady aromas of rose, leather, vanilla, cherry, pepper, cranberry, strawberry. Fruits are perfectly knitted with the tannins and acidity. It's a powerful wine but remarkably subtle. Certainly serve it with food to show at it's best.

Pair this wine with rich meat focused dishes like braised short ribs, beef roasts, lamb or veal chops. Here you'll find that the smoke and earthy qualities of the wine are complemented by the dish. Feathered game, such as duck, goose, partridge, or quail are also excellent.

The finest Dolcetto wines come from grapes grown on soils rich with white marls, especially those found on the right bank of the River Tauro.
