Barolo, 1967

Serio & Battista Borgogno

Barolo is known as the 'king of wines' and is made from the Nebbiolo grape. Heady aromas of rose, leather, vanilla, cherry, pepper, cranberry, strawberry. Fruits are perfectly knitted with the tannins and acidity. It's a powerful wine but remarkably subtle. Don't underestimate it and certainly serve it with food to show at it's best. Nebbiolo has naturally high tannins and acidity, so it will take on full-flavoured, rich foods no problem at all.

Bourgogne, 1967

Ant. Bourgeois - Gran Riserva

Bourgogne Rouge is the term used to apply to red wines from Burgundy that fall under the generic Bourgogne AOC, which can be produced by over 350 individual villages across the region. As with Bourgogne Blanc and Bourgogne Rosé, this is a very general appellation and thus is hard to pinpoint any specific characteristics of the wine as a whole, due to the huge variety of wines produced.Pinot Noir is the primary grape used in Bourgogne Rouge production, although Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and in Yonne, César grapes are all also permitted to make up the rest of the wine.

Cannonau Di Sardegna, 1967

Sella & Mosca

The Cannonau (also known as Cannonao, Cannonadu or Canunau) is the most popular wine from the island of Sardinia. It's mostly produced in the centre of Sardinia, even if we can find production of this famous wine in all the island. The grapes used for this Sardinian wine is the Cannonau. (At least 90 % of this grapes has to be used to be certified as original Cannonau). Cannonau is a very "strong wine" so it should be used with elaborate red meat and some types of cheese.

Chateau d'Yquem, 1967

Sauternes 1er Grand cru Classe
Sweet White Wine

Yquem is indisputedly the best wine in Sauternes and may well be the finest sweet wine in the world.

*** 99/100 Points -Lisa Perrotti-Brown for the Wine Advocate, 30th Aug 2019 ***

Displaying a gorgeous deep amber-gold color, the 1967 d'Yquem slips sensuously out of the glass with a profound perfume of dried mandarin peel, allspice, praline, cinnamon toast and orange blossoms plus hints of gingerbread and accents of lemon butter. The palate is simply electric with citrus and spice-sparked energy, delivering youthfully vibrant notes with a tantalizing floral undercurrent. Superb freshness knit inseparably with the complex sweetness makes this seem like a deceptively delicate,

Chateau Latour, 1967

Pauillac 1er Grand Cru Classe

***18.5/20 Jancis Robinson***
***92 Points-CellarTracker***

Reviews
Magnum . For me, the star of the evening. So complete, so much at the height of its powers, so dense yet fresh.I couldn't help thinking of that ad for menthol cigarettes - 'pure as mountain stream' was the slogan, wasn't it? Sweet and richly flattering without being remotely heavy. It's possible that in bottle sizes this wine is much more developed. Jancis Robinson

"Unquestionably the best wine produced in the Medoc in 1967, the Latour has dark ruby color with some browning at the edges, a medium- to full-bodied feel, plenty of black currant fruit, and some light, soft tannins still present.

Margaux, 1er Grand Cru Classe

The 1967 Chateau Margaux has been fully mature for more than two decades. It is medium ruby with some amber/orange colour at the edges, possessing a light-intensity, fragrant bouquet suggestive of berry fruit and oak. On the palate, the flavours reveal adequate fruit and concentration, but the acidity is sharp in the finish.

Chateau Rieussec, 1967

Sauternes 1er Cru Classe
Sweet White Wine

Rieussec made a very good 1967. It is lighter in style and body than some of the more recent vintages of Rieussec, but richly fruity and spicy, with an aroma of roasted nuts.

Château Rieussec is a prestigious Bordeaux wine estate located in the Sauternes appellation, within the Bordeaux wine region of France. The estate is well-known for producing sweet white wines, specifically Sauternes, which are crafted from Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Muscadelle grapes affected by noble rot.

Noble rot, or botrytis cinerea, is a beneficial fungus that dehydrates the grapes, concentrating sugars and flavors, resulting in rich, complex, and sweet wines.
