Chateau Langoa Barton, 2008
St Julien, Bordeaux, 3rd Growth Classification *** 90 Points - Robert Parker ***
*** 90 Points - Robert Parker ***
Reviews
"This potential sleeper of the vintage has come around nicely now that it is in bottle. Elegant yet substantial, it exhibits a dense purple color as well as a sweet bouquet of black currants, cassis, cedarwood, herbs, toast and loamy soil undertones. Medium to full-bodied with sweet tannin (a component that was not evident from barrel), it should drink nicely for 15 or more years" Robert Parker, Wine Advocate 2011.

Chateau Lynch-Bages, 2008
Pauillac 5me Cru Classe, Bordeaux
Reviews for the 2008 Chateau Lynch-Bages: "A sensational effort for the vintage, this textured, opulent, superb Lynch Bages is already strutting its stuff and should easily last for 20 years. Medium to full-bodied with an opaque dense purple colour, notes of flowers and cassis, a layered texture that builds incrementally in the mouth and tremendous purity and depth, it can be drunk now or cellared for two decades or more. Bravo!" Robert Parker, Wine Advocate 2011.
"Juxtaposed against the Pichon-Lalande, the Lynch Bages is far more reticent on the nose with more overt graphite and sous-bois aromas inflecting the fruit. …

The 2008 Château Trotte Vieille still has a vibrant ruby/purple-coloured and is still youthful, with terrific notes of black cherries, currants, and spring flowers, it hits the palate with medium-bodied richness, ripe, still present tannins, terrific balance, and a lengthy finish. The 2007 Léoville Barton from Saint-Julien is a vintage from a cooler year in Bordeaux. While 2007 was not considered an exceptional year for Bordeaux, Léoville Barton still managed to produce a solid wine, thanks to its skilled winemaking and vineyard management.
The 2007 Léoville Barton is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon (typically around 70-80%), with Merlot and a small amount of Cabernet Franc. Chateau Leoville Poyferre, 2007
St Julien 2me Cru Classe, Bordeaux
New Bordeaux arrivals
***90 Points Robert Parker***
Tasted blind at the 2007 Bordeaux horizontal in Southwold. The nose is lacking a little vigour and definition: rather muffled black fruit, minerals, dark cherries but it opens up and coalesces in the glass. Modern in style, quite opulent for the vintage…typical of Didier's style. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe dusty tannins, quite spicy on the entry, nice weight and cohesion, a little dry towards the finish but decent length. Very fine.

Chateau Latour, 2006
Pauillac 1er Grand Cru Classe
***96 Points - Robert Parker***
Ch. Latour 2006 is the wine of the vintage. The pure, dark chocolate and cassis nose is followed by a palate of enormous intensity with lashings of cool blackberries and cream, minerals, cedar and coffee. The length of the finish is astonishing too - as if the wine is still in your mouth
The 2006 Château Latour has quite a vibrant bouquet with lively raspberry, wild strawberry, cedar and pencil lead scents that all gently unfold in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, slightly chewy red berry fruit, a dash of spice, maybe a little tight towards the finish, unlike the Lafite-Rothschild and Mouton-Rothschild. …

Chateau Beychevelle, 2005
St Julien 4me cru classe
*** 90 Points (Outstanding) Robert parker ***
Reviews
"The quintessentially elegant yet powerful 2005 may be the finest Beychevelle made since 1982. Its opaque ruby/purple color and sweet nose of camphor, blueberries, black currants, flowers, and crushed rocks precede a lovely, sweet, rich wine with zesty acidity delineating its medium to full-bodied personality, laser-like precision, and impressive purity and length. While this estate often does not live up to its pedigree, the 2005 is the real deal. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2025+." Parker Wine Advocate 2007

Claire Villars delivers what most Claret lovers really want - namely, wines of character that reflect their terroir, offered at sensible prices. Made from 25% Merlot and 75% Cabernet, this has a lovely fresh, elegant nose; the palate is feminine in style with a lovely creamy finesse but also has rich, spicy damson and blackberry fruit and very good grip. The finish is very pure with an attractive marzipan edge providing an extra layer of complexity.

Chateau La Lagune, 2004
Haut Medoc, 3rd Growth Classification
An outstanding 2004 bordeaux wine from Chateau La Lagune.
"The 2004 and offerings from La Lagune are the finest back-to-back vintages they have produced in over fifteen years. Kudos to the Frey family, who also purchased the Rhone Valley flagship firm of Paul Jaboulet-Aine in 2005. Their daughter, Caroline Frey, is the oenologist at La Lagune. The sexy, up-front, evolved 2004 La Lagune exhibits a dark ruby/purple hue as well as big nose of cedar, spice box, black cherry jam, licorice, and smoke. Savory, broad, ripe, and low in acidity, it is a total hedonistic and intellectual turn-on.
