Tasting Notes: The 1969 Palmer has a deep mahogany colour with olive highlights on the rim highlighting that this is a wine of great age. On the nose it has a very fine, elegant aroma of honey, caramel and butterscotch infused with a spicy redolence of black pepper and cinnamon. There are layers of complexity here with wild herbs and mint. The palate is perfectly balanced with a fresh acidity and sweetness. It has an amazing rich mellow flavour, molasses, caramel, dried figs, sultanas and dried fruits. The finish lasts for ages and is clean and fresh with zesty citrus notes. …

Notes: An attractive bronze colour, looking fully mature; 40% opaque. A nose of sweet cherry, spiced beautifully with a grating of mace. Very mellow on the palate, fully mature with flavours of baked apple, cinnamon and cloves. Warm and spiced fruit. A little spearmint shows on the aftertaste, but quickly fades to a gentle black tea and apple finish. Fully mature Port, sliding gently into its place in history.

These bottles have impeccable provenance having been held in Krohn's own cellars since bottling. They were imported by VWP in Dec 16.

Tasting note: Outstanding!! Pale tawny fading to amber on the rim. The nose is complex and multi-dimensional, notes of wild herbs, plum and mocha, coffee, tobacco around around a warm core. The palate displays a smooth, silky texture and finishes with a burst of rich mellow flavour. The finish is long and elegant.
