The 1975 Barbera from Umberto Fiore is a charming and beautifully preserved example of traditional Piedmontese winemaking from an era when Barbera was valued for its purity, freshness, and everyday nobility. Crafted in the classic style — fermented in large oak casks and aged slowly to soften its natural acidity — it reflects both the authenticity of the grape and the house’s long-standing dedication to elegance and balance.

In the glass, it displays a mature brick-red colour with orange highlights, revealing its age with grace. The bouquet is fragrant and gently evolved, offering aromas of dried redcurrant, cherry, sweet herbs, cedar, and a touch of leather, alongside subtle earthy notes of mushroom and spice box.

On the palate, the wine is silky and medium-bodied, with the once-vibrant acidity now perfectly integrated. Flavours of dried raspberry, fig, and balsamic warmth unfold gradually, framed by soft tannins and a lingering finish of dried fruit and warm earth.
