Château Haut-Brion's 1999 comes from a very good Bordeaux vintage for those producers who picked their crop selectively.

The 1999 Haut Brion is intensely aromatic, rich and concentrated. Their wines are consistently viewed as some of the very best in the entire Bordeaux region, including its fellow first growths of the Médoc.

"The Haut-Brion is certainly more expressive on the nose than their neighbours over the road, very good lift with blackberry, cedar, iodine, macerated black cherries, a touch of dried herbs. The palate is medium-bodied, very well balanced, very elegant with svelte, fine tannins. Very pure, rounded wild strawberry, raspberry, boysenberry, a touch of Asian spice and a hint of liquorices."
