  • Description

The 2004 Palmer Port Colheita is a classic single-harvest Tawny Port, matured in seasoned oak casks to highlight the finesse and character of the 2004 vintage. Smooth, complex and elegant, this Colheita is ready to drink now but will continue to develop further depth over the next decade. A wonderful choice for collectors or those discovering the richness of Colheita Ports. Enjoy now or cellar until 2030+.

    Tasting Notes:
Amber-tawny in colour with golden glints. The bouquet reveals aromas of dried figs, candied orange peel, roasted nuts and hints of honey and spice. On the palate, layers of caramel, raisin, walnut and toffee are lifted by a refreshing acidity that brings balance and freshness. The finish is smooth, nutty and lingering, leaving delicate notes of dried fruits and oak.

    Serving Tips & Storage
Colheita Ports are bottled ready to enjoy and require no decanting. Best served slightly chilled (12–14°C) to accentuate freshness and aromatic complexity. Perfect with tarte tatin, pecan pie, almond cake or a board of mature cheeses. Once opened, this Colheita will remain in fine condition for several weeks if stored upright in a cool place. Store unopened bottles on their side, in a cool, dark environment away from heat and light.

Palmer is an independent Port house with a reputation for producing traditional styles at outstanding value. Samuel Palmer, a late ancestor of the Van Zeller family – once owner of Casa de Malladas – was a maverick and a remarkable icon in the trade of high-quality Port shipped to England. Paying attention to every single detail, the Van Zeller family have carefully aged their wines in the highest quality oak casks to ensure that they mature these rare elixirs as Samuel Palmer once wanted them to be. Specialising in Colheitas, Tawnies and Aged Ports, Palmer sources its grapes from the Douro Valley’s schistous vineyards, crafting expressive, authentic wines that combine heritage with elegance.
