The 1967 Barolo Cantine Prandi have come from the producer's cellars where they have laid undisturbed since bottling.

Cantine Prandi was established in the 1920s when grandfather Farinetti Majorino envisioned selling part of the wine produced for family use to the commercial market. In the 1960's his nephew Giovanni came to lend a hand and was instrumental in shaping the winery and its future development. Up to 2009, Giovanni's son Alessandro looked after the beautiful vineyards situated in the long hills surrounding Piemonte. A Passito made from grapes of Erbaluce native to the Piemonte region in Northern Italy. The grapes are harvested at the end of September and laid in small wooden cases where clusters are close to each another. At the beginning of March, after a drying period of about five months, grapes undergo a careful selection and a slow pressing process. The resulting must is fermented in barriques. Aging lasts four years, at least two of which in barriques. Tasting Notes: Intense amber in colour. The nose shows the typical and natural aromas of dried Erbaluce. Intense notes of ripe, jammy and dried apricot fruit, followed by honey and sweet flowers, with pastries and persistent aromas of toasted almonds and hazelnuts. …

Marchesi di Barolo, Barolo, Piedmont

Barolo wines from 1975, especially those from a reputable producer like Marchesi di Barolo, are highly esteemed and likely to have aged into something special.
Expect a garnet hue with a brick-orange rim, typical of well-aged Nebbiolo. The wine may appear slightly lighter in colour due to its age. It will have aromas of earthy notes, dried fruits and some hints of leather and tar. Medium to full-bodied, though the tannins have likely softened significantly over time, making the wine more elegant.
