Quinta do Vesuvio, 1990
Vintage Port
1990 was the first official year of Quinta do Vesuvio Vintage Port. Quinta do Vesuvio is arguably the most magnificent estate in the Douro valley.
"Light rose in colour; 30% opaque. Soft rose perfume on the nose, a little harsh and with a hint of bake. Hollow entry but some burnt sugar and a little red apple comes though on the mid-palate; dry and slightly bitter at the core. Big and flavoursome on the late palate, flavours which lead to red cinnamon and an aniseed finish that drops off quite rapidly. 84/100. Drunk 13-Feb-19. Decanted 1½ hours." Note By AHB on The Port Forum.
Wine Makers Notes: This was fortunate as the weather throughout the summer was very dry and the months of July and August were particularly hot. …

Chateau Grand Puy Ducasse, 1989
Pauillac 5th Growth Classification
1989 Château Grand-Puy Ducasse offers a classic, fully mature expression of Pauillac from a warm, characterful vintage. After more than three decades in bottle, it has shed its youthful austerity and now shows a harmonious balance of gently fading fruit, cedarwood complexity and the savoury depth that marks traditional Left Bank claret.

Bekaar Valley, Gaston Hochar
Magnum Bottle (150cl)
The 1989 Musar is a blend of Cinsault, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache and Carignan from this well-known and highly regarded Lebanese winery.
Chateau Musar is often referred to as the Lafite of the Lebanon. Wine maker Gaston Hochar defied the odds producing a string of great wines during the Lebanon War. Musar has assumed legendary status. Complex, long-lived and endlessly varied, in some vintages it seems more like a Burgundy, in others a Bordeaux, in still others a Hermitage. But it is always brilliantly, uniquely, Lebanese. Ages magnificently but good vintages are usually best at 10-20 years old. …
