La Grande Annee Champagne (presented in Original Bollinger gift Box)
Buy 2 or more and save 10%

Grande Annee, the name, signifies that Bollinger's vintage champagne is only released during 'great' years.

The Grande Annee blend comes only from a particularly fine harvest. When such a harvest occurs the House selects its best wines, cru by cru and grape variety by grape variety - the key to the particular year. Each wine is individually fermented in oak casks prior to blending. On average, the blend is composed of 65% pinot noir and 35% chardonnay.

Chateau Ducru Beaucaillou, 2007

St Julien 2me Cru Classe

** 92 Points - Robert Parker **

Tasted blind at Farr Vintners 2007 Bordeaux tasting. The 2007 Ducru Beaucaillou has a generous red cherry and wild strawberry bouquet armed with very good fruit concentration. The palate is medium-bodied, fleshy in the mouth with slightly lower acidity than its peers. Harmonious and velvety smooth, there is a fair amount of new oak here, but it is very well integrated with a caressing finish. It still has that Burgundian flair. This is excellent considering the growing season. Tasted March 2015. The Wine Advocate 2015*

Chateau Gruaud Larose, 2007

St Julien, 2me Cru Classe

The ever-impressive Gruaud has punched well above its weight in 2007. It is quite simply one of the most sumptuous, upfront, early-drinking Gruauds we have ever tasted. The intensely rich, pure, fresh nose is followed by generous, creamy, raspberry and blackcurrant fruit that seduces the senses while cedar and licorice add complexity. Without even a hint of the astringency that is apparent in many 2007s, this is as good as some wines double the price, and certainly more enjoyable.

Chateauneuf du Pape, 2007

New

CHATEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE VIEILLES VIGNES, DOM. VILLENEUVE

*** 94 Points Robert Parker ***

This estate did not offer their 2008 for tasting, but they have hit the bull’s eye with their brilliant 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape. Aged 80% in tank and 20% in old barrels, this blend of 70% Grenache, 16% Mourvedre, and the rest Syrah, Cinsault, and the white grape Clairette is made from vines that average 65 years of age (some are over 100 years). This dense ruby/purple-hued offering smells like the essence of raspberry jam intermixed with boysenberries and blueberries. Exceptionally pure, with a layered mouthfeel and sweet tannin, this is undeniably the finest wine made by Proprietor Stanislas Wallut since he purchased Domaine de Villeneuve in 1992.

Croft Port, 2007

Vintage Port MAGNUM

93/100 (Outstanding) Wine Journal

"There is a nice limpidity on this Croft 2007. It is not the power that strikes you but the purity with black cherries, liquorices, violets and a hint of iodine. Very tight and focused. The palate is full-bodied with chewy tannins on the entry, pure blackberry, raspberry, white pepper and Asian spice towards the finish. Very fine focus, very pure and harmonious. Sensuous finish but it just tapers away when I need more grip and assertiveness. Still, this is a lovely Croft." Neil Martin , Wine Journal

Dow's Port, 2007

Vintage Port

*** 100 Points Wine Spectator ***

This has a superb nose of rich, ripe berry fruit with the typical slightly austere and firm reserve of Dow. Analytically drier than usual, it is still blessed with dense fruit on the palate, a magnificent structure, weight and impressively long finish. On this showing, Dow is a strong candidate for wine of the vintage.

Wine Spectator Awards Perfect Score to World-Renowned Port Producer Dow's 2007 Vintage Port, from the Oporto, Portugal based producer, has been awarded a perfect 100-point score from Wine Spectator magazine in the May 31 issue. Only 70 wines have ever been awarded a perfect score by the magazine, who called this Port "The greatest Dow ever made.

12- Year-Old Amontillado Principe De Barbadillo

*91 Points - Robert Parker*

Beautiful amber colour. Clear and bright in appearance. It is intense and elegant on the nose; a tempting seductress. Saline nuances and a trace of toasted hazelnuts. Excellent balance and structure with a long finish. The typical dryness of amontillado sherry stands out and highlights its complexity. Lingering and satisfying aftertaste.

Serving Suggestion:
Enjoy at 12-13 Celsius degrees either with a traditional Amontillado pairing such as artichoke dishes or if you are adventurous try red tuna ceviche.

Taylor's Port, 2007

Quinta de Vargellas Vinha Vehla

The Vinha Vehla are five plots located in the heart of Quinta de Vargellas. The vines being between 80 and 120 years of age. Strict selection has led to a wine of stunning complexity, power and richness. This is one that will be at its peak 50 years hence. The palate is gloriously sweet and dense, with huge potential for the long term.

Reviews: "The Taylor Vargellas Vinha Velha 2007 has a more introverted than Taylor’s Vintage, an earthy bouquet with touches of orange essence developing in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, good backbone, quite reserved and composed at the moment.

The palate is rounded, smooth and perfectly balanced. Flavours of redcurrant, raspberry and blueberry in abundance, with a delicious hint of black liquorice; wonderful purity of fruit. In true Taylor style, the wine is very well structured with big firm tannins that hold the wine nicely together. The finish is wonderfully long.
