Dolomore Port, 1982
Vintage Port
The 1982 Dolomore Vintage Port is impressively deep red in colour; opaque. Gentle nose bringing a bit of dusty cherry. The lovely thick texture that is starting to seem typical of the vintage. Fresh fruit on the palate, good levels of acidity keeping the freshness and an interesting sage-leaf twist. Medium-bodied, modest in intensity and still quite acidic. Nice aftertaste, with a big flaring finish that has lots of cherry and green wood tannins. Fine port..

Graham's Port, 1982
Quinta dos Malvedos
In undeclared years, its wine is bottled as Malvedos, which can be better than many Vintage Ports. Quinta da Eira Velha, 1982
Vintage Port
Usually excellent - as with this '82… Fairly deep, plummy, trying to make a start at maturing; very good, rich, intense, rather high-toned, figgy, raisiny nose; a big sweet wine, with a very attractive, slightly raisiny flavour, touch of leanniness, otherwise excellent balance. Four stars, almost a five star future. Score: 4 Stars Broadbent, 1992

Quinta do Noval Nacional, 1982
Quinta do Noval Nacional
86/100 Wine Spectator

Noval is particularly famous for its Nacional, a Port produced in some years only from a 2 hectare parcel at the heart of the Noval vineyard where ungrafted vines survive. This is remarkable, because phylloxera, the root munching aphid that necessitates grafting vines onto resistant American rootstock, is endemic in the Douro

Ryst-Dupeyon Armagnac, 1982
Ryst Dupeyron Reserve Joseph Millesime vintage Armagnac
50cl bottle
The 1982 Dupeyron Armagnac is the expression of a single year and has a unique character associated with the year and the cask in which it has been stored. These vintages are bottled at the alcohol level in which they naturally come out of the cask. There is a wonderful contrast between the sweet and sour flavours of wood, amplified by the strong alcoholic degree. Rich palate feeling the alcohol and the concentration of dry plums, spicy with persistent flavour of rancio and of spices, but round, soft and long in the finish. The tannins are very present, but full-bodied and round.
The Maison Ryst-Dupeyon was founded by Joseph Dupeyron in 1905. …

Veuve Clicquot, 1982
Ponsardin
Fantastic colour shows some age but still vibrant and fine bubbles. On the nose brioche, vanilla and to me lots of foie gras and apples of course. Completely different on the palate with lots of acidity and citrus shining through. This wine still has fruit and acidity enough to continue developing into a very fine old champagne.

Tenuta Carretta - Poderi Bordino
Nice bright crimson. Nose of cherries, cigar box and leather. Full body with good acidity and long tannin finish. A very nice wine ready to drink now.
Pair this wine with rich meat focused dishes like braised short ribs, beef roasts, lamb or veal chops. Here you'll find that the smoke and earthy qualities of the wine are complemented by the dish. Feathered game, such as duck, goose, partridge, or quail are also excellent.

1981 Taittinger, 1981
Vintage Champagne Arman Label
Amongst Champagne's luxury cuveés and super-premium labels, Taittinger's wines live on one extreme end of the style spectrum.
While many top Champagnes can be quite difficult to approach in their youth, with laser-like focus and delineation, even austerity, Taittinger instead tends to be immediately open and welcoming. These are beautiful, delicious Champagnes, with bubbles lazily winding their way up to the surface, inviting you to take another sip.

Armagnac
Includes original Sigognac gift box
The company behind this Armagnac owns one of the most important stocks of old vintages in the whole region. They are growers as well as distillers and specialise in sourcing and ageing old casks of Armagnac.
The Armagnac is made from a blend of Baco and Ugni Blanc, the predominant grapes used in the production of Armagnac. The alcohol content then reduces naturally to about 40% after about forty years. In presentation case.
