Description
The 1966 Cecubo has a fairly deep ruby color going garnet at the edges. The nose is nicely aromatic with prune, fig, baking spice and leather. Very earthy and appealing. On the palate, this wine is on the fuller side of medium with high acid and fine, dusty tannins. There are spicy black cherry, black plum and prune fruits with a savory leather and dusty earth character to it and a good aftertaste.
Cecubo (often called Abbuoto) is an obscure Italian grape variety that is predominantly used as a blending component in the red wines of Lazio, central Italy. Cecubo adds deep color and rustic flavors to a blend.
