This garnet 1999 La Chapelle gives off candied red berry and chocolate grilled aromas, enhanced by an evolving hint of truffle and fur. Its airy and concentrated palate develops red and dark berries, grilled hazelnut, spices, chocolate and Virginia tobacco notes. The 1999 Hermitage La Chapelle possesses a perfect acidity that brings a lingering finish with very delicate tannins. This is a superb vintage for a great Hermitage.
Legendary hill and history built up the mythical reputation of this Grand Cru. 1999 Hermitage La Chapelle is a Syrah single-grape wine of Paul Jaboulet-Aîné. This varietal is planted on poor and varied soils with a great diversity of the terroir, which is the origin of the complexity of this wine.
