Description

1965 Barolo, Batasiolo – Kiola

Piedmont, Italy

A fine and traditional Barolo from the historic Kiola estate, later incorporated into Batasiolo, one of La Morra’s most respected producers. This 1965 vintage comes from an era when Barolo was crafted in a distinctly old-world style — long maceration, large Slavonian oak, and extended ageing before release.

Now fully mature, it shows a brick-garnet colour with aromas of dried roses, leather, forest floor, and sweet tobacco. The palate is delicate yet persistent, revealing notes of dried cherry, truffle, and earthy spice, carried by soft, resolved tannins. A classic expression of aged Nebbiolo from one of Barolo’s great traditional houses.
